Originating from Mauritius, I studied cinematography in Cape Town and have worked in the industry for 10 years now. In 2019, I flew from my little island to this much bigger island called New Zealand and settled down in Hamilton, a place I really enjoy for its quietness and quick access to nature, specially the river.
Mauritian Creole and French are my first languages and I am also very fluent in English. I am 33 years old, easy going and always keen to meet new people.
I have a deep interest in storytelling, culture and documentary filmmaking. I believe that I bring a unique perspective shaped by my multicultural background. I am particularly drawn to the rich cultural tapestry and stunning natural landscapes of New Zealand, which fuel my creativity and inspire my work.
During my career I have played diverse roles in the video production landscape, including managing teams, directing shoots, filming and editing.
My experiences range from producing social media videos including events and marketing videos, to high-end corporate videos, to commercial projects, to documentaries that explore cultural narratives and migration journeys.
In the past years I have been very lucky to be able to work on a series of short documentaries on several Maori artists in the Waikato and this has sparked my interest in such cultural projects. I am always eager to shine a light on untold stories.
