Simon Murtagh loves crafting and stitching moving images.
He has had roles across multiple areas of the industry, as a director, senior editor and motion graphic Designer.
He’s happy to plan, script, shoot, edit and work with After Effects to animate video content.
Simon has worked for national broadcasters to boutique production companies and advertising agencies. Some regular past clients include BBC, ESPN, DDB NZ, Colenso, 180 Amsterdam, Tribal DDB Amsterdam, and Maori TV. Brands worked with include Adidas, Phillips, NHS, Barclays, ASB, Macquarie, Telecom, Spark, Westpac, SkyTV, Volkswagen, to name a few.
Simon’s experience ranges from director to camera operator, but his primary focus has been post-production editing and motion graphics. Storytelling is one of Simon’s strengths, and he can easily pluck a compelling narrative from the rushes. Simon directed a documentary shown in the NZ International Film Festival and has Directed professional brand message videos for online content.
Moving forward, Simon’s aim is to focus on more creative and meaningful stories, specifically in the documentary filmmaking realm.
